About H-M Company

In 1957, a partnership formed between Bob Harris and Sid Millman, and, before long, they became early innovators in the commercial laundry business.

H-M Company started as a residential appliance service company, primarily repairing wringer washers. The company soon expanded into serving coin operated laundries when it became this country’s first General Electric commercial laundry distributor. As pioneers in the coin laundry industry, H-M Company worked with GE to form one of the first coin laundry layout and design centers and with P&G to develop single size vend products. Success with coin laundries led to sales and support of industrial laundry equipment and many product lines, including the company’s continuing 50-plus year relationships with Huebsch and Pellerin Milnor.

In 1987, the second generation, Mike and Steve Millman, joined H-M Company and are its current co-owners.

In 1991, H-M Company started building drain troughs that are now the industry standard in the U.S., Canada and beyond.

Today, H-M Company continues to serve a wide variety of industries such as apartment buildings, athletic facilities, coin laundries, commercial laundries, dry cleaners, fire departments, hair salons, health clubs, hospitals, hotels and motels, pet facilities, nursing homes, schools and universities.

In 2011, Sid Millman died.  To this day, his words continue to provide the guiding principle of the business… “When customers purchase from H-M Company, they are buying more than the products we offer.  They are, in essence, buying a piece of H-M and, in turn, we owe them our full resources, experience and our very reputation.  H-M Company’s success can be measured entirely by the magnitude of our customers’ support, trust and, of course, their success with the commercial laundry equipment we provide to them.”

In 2017, H-M Company celebrated its 60th year.
